At a dinner table, everyone has a seat. Everyone knows what is being served. Everyone can see what is on the table and what is not. Our approach to your data works the same way. Here is who sits where, what is shared, and what stays private.

THE SEATING CHART

At the table when you place an order:

You — the customer, the host. You decide what information enters the conversation.
Us (DiningStore) — the server, not the cook. We handle your order, not your data.
Our payment processor — the cashier. They count the money; we never touch the cash drawer.
The shipping carrier — the delivery. They know your doorstep, not your life story.

That is everyone at the table. Four parties. No one hiding in the kitchen.

WHAT YOU SHARE

To complete an order, you share:

  • Your name — so we know who to thank
  • Your email address — for your order confirmation and tracking link
  • Your shipping address — so a 100-pound dining set arrives at the correct home
  • Your phone number — so the freight carrier can schedule your delivery window or reach you if there is an apartment gate code

That is your contribution to the table. We do not ask for:

  • Your birth date
  • Your household income
  • Your browsing history from other sites
  • Your social media profiles
  • Anything else

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PAYMENT

You pay with a credit card or PayPal. The transaction happens between your browser and the payment processor’s secure system. We never see, receive, or store your full card number, CVV, or PayPal password. We know only that your payment was approved and your order is ready to ship.

This is like paying at a restaurant: the server brings the check, you hand over your card, it is swiped at a terminal you never see. The server does not memorize your card number. Neither do we.

WHAT WE KEEP

After your order is complete, we retain:

  • Your order record (name, address, products purchased) — for 2 years, so we can look up your order if you need a receipt, a return, or a warranty question
  • Anonymized analytics — how many visitors, which pages, where they came from. No identities, only patterns.

We do not keep your data longer than needed. We do not mine it, profile it, or sell it.

COOKIES

Two types on our site:

Session cookies — needed for the shopping cart to function. They disappear when you close your browser. No, you cannot turn them off — the “Add to Cart” button needs them.

Analytics cookies — help us understand traffic. Anonymous. Optional. Block them through the cookie banner or browser settings.

YOUR RIGHTS AT THE TABLE

You are the host. You control your seat:

→ Request your data: Email [email protected]. We respond within 5 business days.
→ Delete your data: If you have no active orders or returns, we delete within 10 business days. Confirmed by email.
→ Correct your data: Address typo? Email us right away and we fix it.

No forms. No verification codes. Just the email.

SECURITY

SSL encryption across the entire site. Customer records are stored on access-controlled servers. Only the order fulfillment staff can view shipping addresses. If a breach ever compromises your information, we notify you by email within 72 hours.
